AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti accepted the boos and whistles at the final whistle of last night's UEFA Cup elimination at the San Siro.
Milan's 2-2 draw with Werder Bremen saw them dumped out of Europe on the away goals rule and Ancelotti said afterwards: "It's been a bad night.
"The boos and whistles are normal. Hopefully we can get the fans encouraging us again. Now we must work hard to recover from this psychological setback, especially the way the game went.
"It's a defeat that burns."
Meanwhile, Milan fullback Gianluca Zambrotta defended Ancelotti after the poor result.
"The decision about the coach is up to the club," said Zambrotta, "but all the players are close to him. We must stay united and overcome this negative period."
