Zaccheroni satisfied as Japan beat Latvia

Japan boss Alberto Zaccheroni was pleased with his sides performance as they defeated Latvia 3-0 in a friendly in Kobe on Wednesday.

The Blue Samurai were served by a double from Stuttgart striker Shinji Okazaki, either side of Keisuke Honda's goal on the hour-mark, and Zaccheroni was extremely satisfied with the showing.

"We played much better in the second half," Zaccheroni said.

"We hadn't played for almost two months so it took us some time to adjust but we were much better after the break and if we continue to play like that we'll be in good shape."

Okazaki made it 1-0 four minutes before half-time when he fired home Atstuo Uchida's pass before Honda doubled the advantage courtesy of a ball from Shinji Kagawa prior to Okazaki's second a minute later which was his 31st international goal in 59 appearances.
