Zaccheroni eyeing longer Juventus stay

Alberto Zaccheroni fancies a long-term future with Juventus.

Juve face Palermo today on a high after seeing off Europa League opponents Ajax in midweek.

When he took charge from Ciro Ferrara, the club was in dire straits, but Zac is unbeaten and has climbed back into fourth place.

"I have been here for a month and we made some good progress. I expect to improve more and more with each game," said the Coach.

"In Italy there are only two types of judgment for a tactician - all good or all bad. They're inevitably tied to the most recent results. Now we're doing well and hope to maintain this until the end of the season, but I know my job too well to be swayed by compliments now.

"I don't want to know about the statistics from before my arrival. I asked my players to wipe the slate clean and only focus on the here and now.

"They have never mentioned anything to me about the past and I'm content that way. I want them to look forward."
