Zabaleta injured but Sagna unsure of Man City role

Despite an injury to first-choice right-back Paulo Zabaleta, Manchester City's Bacary Sagna might not feature against Sunderland in the Capital One Cup.

France international Sagna is available for Tuesday night's third round clash with the Black Cats but 18-year-old Spanish right-back Pablo Maffeo is most likely to be handed his first senior start for the Citizens.

Sagna said: "We have a big squad with quality players. Pablo is injured at the moment, but I don't know whether he will play me or not - my job is to bring something to the team.

"We want to win as many cups as possible. We will think about what happened against West Ham and work towards coming back stronger.

"Every team is dangerous and hard to play against."
