Youthful Socceroos can cover departing stars - Holman

Brett Holman is of firm belief that the emerging players in Australia are good enough to replace those that are departing. The next few years are seen as a transition period for the Socceroos with names such as Mark Schwarzer, Harry Kewell, Tim CahillBrett Emerton and Lucas Neill likely to move aside for the likes of Tommy Oar, Dario Vidosic, Nikita Rukavytsya and Nathan Burns and AZ Alkmaar midfielder is confident the new brigade are talented enough to do the job.

"I think definitely," he told AAP.

"Those young players you mentioned are all talented players and I think the most important part for them is to just keep playing regular football.

"When you are on the bench with clubs you stop developing. The only way is to keep on playing.

"I think if these sorts of talents keep on developing and playing regular football for good clubs in Europe and Asia, I have full confidence they can produce the goods.

"They have that sort of sharpness and flair and spark that can change games."
