Everton captain Phil Neville has heaped praise on teammate Leon Osman following his recent call-up to the England team.
The 31-year old midfielder received his first national team call earlier this month before making his debut in the 4-2 friendly loss to Sweden in Stockholm last week.
It took a while before he was recognised but Osman's quality was finally put to use by the Three Lions and Neville feels he could be a player that youngsters in the England setup can look up to.
"Leon has had to overcome some obstacles in his career because he has had some bad injuries," Neville said.
"He has come back and got his rewards for his perseverance, good form and hard work and deserves his chance at international level.
"He shows you great attitude, commitment and determination. They're all characteristics which are key and vital to making it as a professional footballer and Leon Osman has them in abundance."
