Liverpool midfielder Damien Plessis has been rewarded with a new two-and-a-half year deal. The midfielder was bought by boss Rafa Benitez from Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais. Now 21, he has represented France at six different levels and has been named among Liverpool's substitutes on a number of occasions this season.
Upon signing the 21-year-old, the Reds boss said to The Guardian: "He is a good player, big and strong, and we're sure he'll do well for us.
"He's only a young boy with plenty of time to work on his game but it depends on his progress how quickly he can force his way into the first team."
