Aston Villa have confirmed that Daniel Johnson has left the club to join Preston North End.
The 22-year old Jamaican-born midfielder has penned a two-and-a-half-year deal with the League One outfit after coming through Villa's youth academy.
Johnson, who has joined the Lilywhites for an undisclosed fee, has previously spent time in loan with Yeovil Town, Chesterfield and Oldham Athletic.
Preston boss Simon Grayson said of the signing: "We first came across Daniel over a year ago and we thought about signing him last January and have kept our eyes on him ever since."
