Preston boss Phil Brown could hand a debut to the club's youngest ever player in Tuesday's Carling Cup second-round tie at Charlton. However, Brown would not reveal the identity of the youngster who may beat current record holder Doyle Middleton, who made his debut at Stockport last season aged 16 years and 122 days.
"We have got a number of good youngsters coming through," Brown told the club's official website.
"Probably 60% of our team are under the age of 21.
"There is a chance that we are going to hand somebody their debut who will become the youngest ever player that has played for Preston North End.
"One or two of the lads have played every game so far so I might give a couple a rest."
