Young Socceroos' World Cup squad whittled down to 18

Qantas Young Socceroos Head Coach Jan Versleijen today announced an 18-player squad that will go into a training camp at Blacktown next week (2 to 7 July 2011).

This will be the last Australian-based training camp before the final squad is selected which will compete at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Colombia 2011.

With Versleijen currently overseas with the Qantas Joeys at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Mexico 2011, Qantas Young Socceroos Assistant Coach Ante Milicic will be in charge of this training camp which will include a training match against the Central Coast Mariners on Thursday 7 July.

The final Qantas Young Socceroos squad that will travel to the FIFA U-20 World Cup Colombia 2011 is expected to be announced on Monday 11 July.

The FIFA U-20 World Cup Colombia 2011 commences on 29 July with the final to be played on 20 August.
