Ashley Young may put new contract talks with Aston Villa on hold.
The Mirror says Young is contracted to the club until July 2012 and Villa will offer him another pay rise after increasing his salary a year ago when Spurs first moved for him.
But Young is unlikely to be rushed into penning a new long-term contract.
The player wants to see how the club performs under incoming boss Gerard Houllier and plans to consider his options ahead of the January window.
