Young: Man Utd thrilled to be back after missing Champions League

Ashley Young insists Manchester United are chomping at the bit to be back competing in the Champions League.

The Red Devils missed out on Europe's premier club competition last season but will return on Tuesday night when the group stage proper kicks off.

United take on PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadion in Group B and winger Young cannot wait to again be involved after frustrating campaign without elite European action.

"I sat at home and watched it with my family last year so I am obviously glad to be back in it again," Young said.

"It's the biggest and best competition. That disappointment of not being involved was always in the back of my mind when I watched the games.

"I did miss it. I don't think there is a player in the squad who didn't. It was disappointing not to be in it, but that is in the past now and we are looking forward to the game on Tuesday and hopefully also getting back to winning ways in the Champions League."
