Winger Ashley Young feels that Manchester United are hitting top form during a crucial period of the season.

Following a very difficult start to the campaign, United have managed to make a wonderful recovery in recent months and their current five-match winning run in the Premier League has propelled the Red Devils into third place on the table.

The upturn in fortunes has certainly brought the feel-good factor back to Old Trafford and Young believes that his side could not have picked a better time to turn their fortunes around.

Young told the Manchester Evening News: "Obviously it is nice to be winning, but it's about that momentum.

"Especially when you are going into this vital stage of the season now. United teams always come strong at this stage and we are showing in every game just how strong we can be - and even how we finish the game.

"There's always been balance. In the last few weeks you see how it's working. We work together as a team - always from the back to the front. We just want to keep the momentum we have shown, and the good positive play we have shown, especially in the last few games.

"It is nice to go out there and win games, controlling games. You saw against Villa, we controlled it from the first whistle right until the end. Not just in possession, but also getting in the box and having shots at goal and what not.

"We have just got to continue what we have shown and hopefully, fingers crossed, come the end of the season we will be as high as we can."
