Goalkeepers Jeremy Meara and Jeremy Vuolo are both capable of taking the number one shirt at New York Red Bulls according to general manager Erik Soler.
The young glovemen are the only two keepers on the Red Bulls roster at present by Soler feels the duties can be shared between the pair, especially after 21-year old Meara kept a clean sheet in Thursday's Desert Diamond Cup draw with Mexican club UNAM Pumas.
"Both have huge potential, we think. We feel we have amongst those two the future first goalkeeper for the team.''"We're very, very happy with the performance of Jeremy and Ryan so far. They've proven to have exceeded our expectations," said Soler.
And Meara said he was looking forward to getting some more experience with the team after producing a shutout.
"I'm really lucky to be in this situation, and enjoying every second of it. Take it all in and once the game starts, it's just another game. I've got to remember that.''"Just personally, I hate giving up goals, so any game you can get away with a clean sheet, I'll be happy with. Obviously you want to win every game, but I think the scoring will come with us,'' said Meara.
