Young fed-up with Middlesbrough super goals

Luke Young is getting sick of watching wonder goals fly into the Middlesbrough net on TV.

The England defender was reaching for the remote on Saturday again after Chelsea's Brazilian stand-in stopper Alex drilled home a 35 yard screamer to seal the Blues' win.

"It was fantastic," said the £2.5m former Charlton man. "He stuck it in the top corner from distance and there was no stopping it. You can't legislate for that.

"But I'm getting a bit sick of conceding goals in games and then seeing them that night on Match of the Day as goal of the month contenders.

"It happened with that Elano shot against Manchester City and the Liam Miller's goal in the Sunderland game too.

"When the goals are going in like that you start to worry that the luck is going against you but there is only us who can change it."

"It is down to us as a team to stop people getting in those positions and it is down to us to make sure a goal like that doesn't decide the game."
