Aston Villa wing ace Ashley Young is delighted for teammate Craig Gardner over his current goal scoring form.

"I'm pleased for Craig," said Young. "He's been doing really well. "He's come back into the team and scored two goals in two games. Hopefully when we come back from the international break he can carry that on."

Young believes Villa's 1-0 victory over West Ham - which lifted them initially to fifth and finally to eighth in the Premier league - has given the team renewed confidence that they can defend a lead, after the amazing collapse at Tottenham days earlier.

"Things are looking good in the table at the moment for us," he said. "It was all about the result and we got another home win, which was great."
