Manchester United winger Ashley Young believes that he can fill in the left-back spot for the club in the absence of the injured Luke Shaw.
The 20-year-old defender suffered a horrific leg break in the Champions League game against PSV Eindhoven, and he is expected to miss six months of action, but Young has been adeptly filling in since Shaw has been sidelined.
"I'm a versatile player who can play there as well as on the wing," Young said.
"I played there during the week in the cup and if the manager calls upon me to play there again I'll go out there and give 110 per cent as I always do.
"I feel comfortable at left-back and playing wing-back. It's a different role for me compared to left wing or left midfield, there's more of the defensive side to think about but I'm capable of doing that.
"I felt comfortable and, as I said, if the manager picks me to play there I'll do everything I need to do."
