Yorke: Sunderland fans should remember Keane for promotion

Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke hopes Roy Keane is remembered by Sunderland fans for how he took the club back into the Premiership.

Yorke played under Keane at the Stadium of Light and told TalkSport: "It's very difficult to say but I've had the pleasure of playing alongside a fantastic footballer and a fantastic leader in the time at Manchester United and one of the best players I've played alongside.

"His managerial skills, I'm sure he's still learning the trade and learning a lot about himself. He has got a great presence and a great aura about him and I think that is something significant when you become a manager. If you are going to be a boss of some place you have to have some kind of charisma about yourself and Roy has got all those attributes going for him and he made a great impact at Sunderland, a huge impact.

"He's taken the club to where they are now, it's all down to Roy's doing. Unfortunately last year things didn't pan out as great for him and he finds himself in a very, very difficult situation that unfortunately came to his resignation."
