Sunderland midfielder Dwight Yorke says they can take heart from their performance in Saturday's defeat at Manchester United.
Yorke is part of the temporary coaching staff installed following Roy Keane's dramatic departure last week.
The former United star played for an hour at the base of Sunderland's midfield and said: "It's the beauty of the game that it can sometimes be cruel. We were resilient for such a long time. One thing we can take from this is the good character we've shown."
