Joseph Yobo is in the brink of penning a new Everton contract.

The News of the World says Yobo is set to stay at Everton and sign a new and improved five-year deal.

Nigerian defender Yobo 28, will commit to a deal that will see him earn £50,000-a-week and be given a testimonial before it expires in 2014.

The agreement will see him gain parity with the club's other top earners such as Mikel Arteta.
