Yerry Mina: I chose Everton because of Fellaini, Lennon; A Barcelona return?

Yerry Mina admits two former Everton stars convinced him about moving to Goodison Park.

The Colombia defender chose Everton ahead of Olympique Lyon on Thursday after deciding to leave Barcelona.

He told Mundo Deportivo: "Why did I choose Everton despite the many proposals? Thank God, I had several proposals. It's a problem, but a good problem.

"I chose Everton because they gave me a lot of confidence. This is a team that I have followed in recent years, in which players like (Marouane) Fellaini and Aaron Lennon stood out.

"It's a team that fights with the big guys and I think we can do a great job there."

Mina also left the door open to an eventual return to Barca.

"If I left with the idea of returning to Barca? Yes of course. Barça is wonderful and I would like to be there forever. Colleagues, coaches, assistants ... I thank them all. Now I have to focus on Everton, which is now my club and I will fight to death for them because they showed me their confidence. If the opportunity arises, I want to get rid of this thorn."
