Yeovil chief: Mason Spurs success proves Dyke is WRONG

Yeovil Town chief Terry Skiverton says Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason is the ideal example why FA chairman Greg Dyke's developments are ALL WRONG.

Skiverton believes he is the perfect example of why the loan system works - and why FA chairman Greg Dyke is wrong to want an Under 21 league.

He told the Daily Star Sunday: "An Under 21 league won't be able to build character or teach you how to be humble, to show you it's not all given to you on a silver platter.

"We gave Ryan his first real chance of regular first-team football in a man's league and he's gone on to play for England.

"But he's not the only one. We had Caulker as well, and Andros Townsend too. Even Harry Kane had to go out on loan before he made it.

"They've all gone on to play for England. They're the perfect advertisement for the loan system in my opinion.

"It just shows the best players are the ones who have loan spells at Football League clubs. We are the right breeding ground."
