Yeboah reaches for the stars with Borussia Monchengladbach

Borussia Monchengladbach's Kwame Yeboah is planning to follow in the footsteps of some of his fellow Australians.

The 19-year old Gold Coast product joined the German Bundesliga club in January after making just 12 A-League appearances with the Brisbane Roar.

Yeboah managed 10 matches for 'Gladbach's reserves after arriving during the 2013/14 season and is now looking to emulate the three Aussies before him - Robbie Kruse (Bayer Leverkusen), Ben Halloran (Fortuna Dusseldorf) and Mathew Leckie (FSV Frankfurt, moving to FC Ingolstadt) - who are all flourishing in Germany.

"I share a flat with Ben and he's had a great season in the second Bundesliga with Fortuna Dusseldorf and his hard work has been paying off. He fully deserved the call up," Yeboah told SBS.

"You see how he has developed and also how well Robbie was going at Bayer Leverkusen before his injury.

"We talk a lot and both he and Ben have helped me out a lot with encouragement and advice.

"Then you look at Mathew and he's also been on fire (scoring 10 goals for FSV).

"You watch them and say to yourself 'why not me?', so long as I keep working hard and developing my game. It helps motivate you and their help has been invaluable.

"It's a new culture here for me and it's taken a little time to settle in. It's really dog eat dog here and you have to be strong and determined to get on and survive. Coming here has definitely toughened me up."
