Portsmouth midfielder Hassan Yebda is ready to skip the FA Cup final against Chelsea to be fit for Algeria's World Cup campaign.
Yebda has flown to France to be nursed back to fitness by former Arsenal physio Philippe Boixel after missing Portsmouth's last two games with an abductor muscle injury.
Yebda said: "It will be 50-50 whether I play in the cup final. However, I can't take any risks and I must always listen to what my body is saying, as any professional player should.
"My main wish is to be able to play in the final with Portsmouth but if I feel I can't do what the coach and my team-mates need me to do I'll give up my place to someone else. I am not going to cheat anyone. In principle I will stay in Paris until Wednesday at the latest. The treatment requires above all rest and some specific sessions.
"It is getting better and better and I have no worries about how they pain I am feeling is developing."
