Yaya Toure is desperate to bounce back from Manchester City's defeat at Sunderland.
The international break means City have to wait almost a fortnight to get back to Premier league action.
But Toure told City's website: "I don't like losing and I think it's important we put this game behind us quickly, get back to working hard in training and in our next match and move on quickly.
"We're all very disappointed to lose our first match because we know that if we'd taken our chances in the first half, the result would have been completely different.
"Nobody is blaming Carlos for his missed opportunity - football is a strange game sometimes and strange things happen, but he is our captain and a very important player for us and we had other chances to score that we didn't take, too."
