Yann M'Vila wants to return to Sunderland.

The French midfielder spent last season on-loan with Sunderland from Rubin Kazan.

M'Vila has since returned to Russia and is training with Rubin, but L'Equipe says he is desperate to sign permanently for Sunderland.

Black Cats boss Sam Allardyce is keen to make the deal happen and talks will kickoff this week.

However, Sunderland have warned Rubin not to ask over the odds for the player.
