Major League Baseball's New York Yankees will share Yankee Stadium with MLS expansion franchise New York City FC.
Sources have told the NY Post that NYCFC, which is part-owned by the MLB powerhouse and Premier League giant Manchester City, will play their home games at the famous home of the Yankees between 2015 and 2017.
"There'll be an announcement next week. It's true," the source said.
The Yankees have been planning for this stadium share to go ahead with the franchise's director of program development, Mark Holtzman, recently saying there was a strategy in place.
"I know there are deadlines, but there's lots of enthusiasm," he said.
"I don't think we would've gotten into this relationship [if we weren't prepared]. The Yankees do nothing unless it's thought out and planned out. We realized what we were getting into. And once again, we pride ourselves [on diversity] since this new stadium's been built."
NYCFC enter MLS next season and will play their home fixtures at Yankee Stadium until the 2017 season when they play to move into their own home.
