Newcastle United striker Xisco is desperate to join their relegation fight.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "I've had injury problems for a long time, but the toe is OK now, which is the most important thing. I'm ready to play.

"I feel good, but I know I have to work to get in the team. I came here to play first-team football.

"The reserve team is fine to get fit, but I'm here to play in the Premier League.

"That's what I aim to do now. I just want to help and play my part.

"It's up to the manager and the coaches now, if they think I am ready - I feel I am."
