Newcastle's Spanish striker Xisco is hoping to be handed an opportunity to impress the St James' Park faithful. The youngster made an immediate impact by scoring on his debut in the 2-1 defeat to Hull, but has stagnated since then.
"I will get better and I will take my chance when it comes," the 22-year-old told the Evening Chronicle.
"Things always get better after more training and more games. And I hope that is the case at Newcastle.
"You always need to become more familiar with people when you arrive at a new club."
He has called for patience from the Toon army as he adapts to his new surroundings.
"Football is different in Spain, but I think I can adapt fast," he added.
"I wanted to come and play in the Premier League because it is a big league. Along with La Liga, it is the strongest league in the world.
"Most players who have the opportunity to come here do so.
"And I just want to take my chance."
