Xherdan Shaqiri was delighted with his brace in Stoke City's win at Hull City.

Shaqiri scored two goals, beautiful by his own admission, as he continued his eye-catching form since returning from injury – but it is his first that will be a contender for Premier League goal of the month.

He said: "It was important today for the whole team because we are in a good shape, we came here and we know it's a tough game. We managed the game very well and we scored twice – and with two beautiful goals for me!

"I owe thanks to my teammates. I'm not sure who it was who opened a hole in the middle so I could take advantage by cutting inside to shoot. I know if I can get into that position that I have a good shot and I can try to get one away. It was good and it was important – and it was a beautiful goal."
