Xerez have named Nestor Gorosito as new coach.
The Primera Division strugglers have been managerless for the past week after sacking Jose Angel Ziganda following a miserable start to their first-ever top-flight campaign.
They picked up a point at fellow strugglers Real Zaragoza at the weekend but are now nine points off safety.
Gorosito becomes Xerez's third coach in less than a year, Esteban Vigo having left the club in the summer soon after leading them to the Segunda Division title.
The Argentinian has had spells in charge of River Plate, Argentinos Juniors and Rosario Central during an eight year managerial career.
Gorosito's only European stint was the three years he spent as a player at FC Swarovski Tirol in Austria.
The 45-year-old took his first training session on Tuesday.
