Xerez are keen to take Barcelona striker Keirrison on-loan.
The young Brazilian has failed to make an impact at Benfica since arriving in August and Barca are ready to send him elsewhere to assist his development.
"The player is sad because he has Oscar Cardozo and Javier Saviola blocking his way at Benfica," said Barca chief Txiki Begiristain.
Xerez hope to takeover Keirrison's loan for the second-half of the season.
