Midfielders Gregg Wylde and Mervan Celik have been the first players to be cut by embattled Rangers.
20-year old winger Wylde is a surprise choice to be asked to leave by 'Gers as he has a bright future at Ibrox whilst 21-year old Swede Celik only joined the Glasgow giants in January.
Sky Sports suggests that a further three players will be asked to leave this week as the club goes about trying to save £1million a month in a bid to climb out of administration.
Celik's agent Hasan Cetinyaka confirmed his client could not sustain the enormity of the salary cut the club required from him.
"Football wise, it has been good, he's got a lot of playing time in the club and coach Ally McCoist wants to keep him. But that's not acceptable to a wage cut of 75 per cent," Cetinkaya told Expressen.
