Wycombe back Palace in battle over Tottenham's Bostock compo

Wycombe Wanderers stakeholder Steve Hayward was shocked at the treatment of Crystal Palace by a Football League tribunal which ordered Tottenham pay £700,000 for teenager John Bostock.

The Bostock deal will cost Tottenham more than £2million if he makes 40 first-team appearances and plays for England, but Hayes told the Mail on Sunday: "If a Championship outfit like Palace don't receive satisfaction, what chance do Wycombe Wanderers have?

"As a fellow investor I, like Simon Jordan, would be devastated if we produced an outstanding talent only to have to let him go for a fraction of his worth through the tribunal system.

"At a time when the Football Association and Football League are keen to promote England players from youth development, clubs need to feel confident that they will be looked after."
