World Wrestling Entertainment boss Vince McMahon wants to buy into English football. The Daily Star says billionaire McMahon - chief executive of World Wrestling Entertainment - is ready to move into English football and has been heavily linked with the Magpies.

McMahon, famous for his flamboyant ringside pronouncements, sees the Premier League as the route to boosting WWE's global profile.

He has plans to stage spectacular wrestling bouts at whichever club he buys.

Newcastle United have been mentioned, but Toon insiders insist St James' Park won't be McMahon's chosen venue.
