Arsenal legend Ian Wright has paid tribute to Arsene Wenger after his announcement that he will leave at the end of the season.
Wright wrote for The Sun: "When Arsene Wenger arrived at Highbury, he wasn't just a mystery to outsiders — us players knew nothing about him either.
"We had a dressing room packed with strong characters. Alongside me were men like Tony Adams, Steve Bould, Martin Keown, Lee Dixon and Dennis Bergkamp.
"So when this guy came over from Japan and started talking to us about diets, vitamin jabs, preparing properly, what we shouldn't be eating, we were like: 'What the f*** is going on?'
"As footballers you get very set in your ways, what you're used to, but we noticed how the likes of Patrick Vieira and Dennis took to it straight away.
"We started noticing they were faster, fitter and stronger — and after a couple of months, when we were all on board, you saw what happened... we all were.
"Around that time, whenever we would go away with England, players would come up and ask us what we were eating, what we were taking, basically what was going on at Arsenal.
"That's why it's true that Arsene didn't just transform Arsenal, he changed the whole outlook and future of English football. It went way beyond simply Highbury."
