St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright was pleased to see Stevie May score all three goals in his side's 3-0 home win over Dundee United on Sunday.
The Saints returned to the winners list after four matches without a triumph as May broke a dry run of four when he slotted home from the penalty spot in the 20th minute after Calum Butcher had been sent off.
May grabbed his 10th and 11th league goals of the campaign in the 57th and 87th minutes which prompted words of praise from Wright.
"Stevie has had a good season and it was maybe a wee test for him today. He hadn't scored for a few weeks but he works hard and is always a threat. I'm really pleased that he got his hat-trick," he said.
"Hopefully he can kick on again and go on a wee run again.
"I'm pleased with Stevie but just as I am with the rest of the lads. Stevie will get the headlines but it was an excellent team performance."
