Shaun Wright-Phillips' future at Manchester City is in doubt.
The News of the World says City chief executive Garry Cook and football administrator Brian Marwood could not reach an agreement with the winger.
Wright-Phillips, 28, hopes to stay at City for the rest of his career.
But he is frustrated at losing his regular starting place under boss Roberto Mancini and fears for his World Cup place.
Wright-Phillips still has two years of his existing deal to run and City wanted to meet his agents to discuss an extension.
