Wright-Phillips convinced QPR will continue to improve

Shaun Wright-Phillips is convinced QPR can only improve after their draw with Newcastle United.

The 29-year-old is in no doubt the west London club, who won away at Everton before the international break, are heading in the right direction.

He told the club's official website, qpr.co.uk: "I feel I am a bit off (the pace) at the moment. I need a few more games under my belt to get my match-fitness and sharpness back.

"With the team playing the way they did and helping me settle in very quickly, that made it pretty easy.

"It's the first game that we've all played together. I think we've done superbly and I also thought the team defended really well.

"As long as we keep playing like that and the better we get to know each other, then the better we're going to do.

"I think if we keep creating chances like that then we can get a few goals in the next few games."
