Ian Wright believes that it is just a matter of time before Scott Dann is called up for the England national team.

Dann has been an integral part in Crystal Palace's wonderful start to the Premier League campaign this season and the defender was the inspiration behind the Eagles' fine 2-1 victory over Liverpool on Sunday.

Crystal Palace hero Wright said: "He gets on and he's consistent. So he doesn't do anything too great and he doesn't do anything too badly.

"If you get him into a position where he's playing with better players, and I'm not sure if you can say the England players at the moment are better players.

"But if you put him next to someone like John Stones and you get him [Dann] as the head on a stick, stopping things. He's got good positional play. Have a look at him; what's the worst that can happen?"
