Wrexham hope to complete the one-month loan signing of Manchester City defender Sam Williamson before today's transfer deadline.

The planned move is being complicated by the fact that City are in Germany for their Uefa Cup tie with Schalke 04.

Williamson, 21, has been with the Blues since the age of nine.

Having graduated through their academy, he has made one appearance for the Premier League club, as a substitute in the 3-1 win over Portsmouth in April.
