He said: "Steve Davis has been fantastic since he moved to Rangers. I've seen him a few times and I'm not surprised he is already collecting man of the match awards.

"I would say the 45 minutes he played against Bulgaria last month was the best he's performed since I became manager and that is what I'll be looking for again.

"He has tremendous quality but now he is showing it every week like the player I watched coming through at Aston Villa.

"He is a big player for us and the move seems to have helped him and I'm sure our fans will see him perform to his best."
