Worried Liverpool chartered private jet to fly Naby Keita back to Merseyside

Liverpool chartered a private jet to bring Naby Keita back to Merseyside last night.

The Mirror says Keita pulled up with a hamstring injury during Guinea's Africa Cup of Nations tie in Rwanda.

That prompted Liverpool to charter a private jet to fly him back to the UK overnight. Keita was driven to the airport immediately after the game in the Rwanda capital of Kigali.

He confirmed he was flying back to England to undergo tests in Liverpool, where medics will discover the extent of the damage sustained in the first half of a 1-1 draw for his nation Guinea.

After speaking to the £53m star, a local tv journalist, Sega Diallo, suggested in a tweet that Keita did not know yet the extent of the injury.

“Already on the way to the airport @NabyDeco does not know if it's serious. He will do an exam as soon as he arrives @LFC. He doesn't think it's too serious," it read.
