Chelsea assistant Steve Holland has hailed Andre Schurrle for his commitment to the cause.
23-year old Schurrle was lively in the Blue's 2-1 Capital One Cup third round win over Bolton on Wednesday night just a couple of months after coming off the bench to help Germany win the 2014 World Cup.
After the narrow win, Holland spoke of Schurrle's mindset and motivation to perform at his best even though the stakes of the league cup are nowhere near as high as playing in a World Cup final with his country.
"Andre's performance reflected the mentality of the team," Holland said.
"When you think not much more than two months ago he was playing in a World Cup final, tonight he's playing in the third round of the Capital One Cup and showed a really committed performance, full of ambition and drive all night, was dangerous throughout the game, looked our most likely source."
Schurrle has made a total of five appearances for Chelsea this season, scoring twice in the Premier League which includes the weekend's opening goal in the 1-1 draw with Manchester City and one in the 3-1 win at Burnley on opening day.
