Tranmere have lost out on signing Brazilian Vinni Dantas after the League One outfit were refused permission by the FA to seek a work permit for the 21-year-old. Boss Les Parry will continue to track striker Vinni Dantas but admits the club have little hope of securing his services in the future.
Tranmere were prepared to hand him a one-year contract, and Parry said: "We were very disappointed about the decision on Vinni.
"I spoke to Vinni on Tuesday and he is disappointed as well - but he does have other irons in the fire now.
"Hopefully he will pick something up abroad. I truly believe he has got a real future in the game and I hope he goes away and proves me right.
"We will keep an eye on his progress but the chances of us getting him back are slight because if he does go abroad and does well, he will attract bigger clubs."
