Manchester City's attempts to sign McDonald Mariga from Parma are said to have collapsed, reports the Daily Mail. The £7million move had been all but agreed, but the Kenya international's difficulty in securing a work permit have put pay to the deal.
The Eastlands boss moved for Mariga after growing frustrated in a bid for Real Madrid's Fernando Gago.
However, City may now be forced into a last-ditch bid to sign the £17m rated Argentina international.
