Jonathan Woodgate says his first days at Tottenham have run smoothly.

He told Tottenham's website: "It's gone well. Keano's taken me under his wing a bit but I know most of the lads anyway and it was good to be involved straight away."

On his impressive debut at Everton, the former Middlesbrough defender added: "You know what you are going to get at Goodison Park and it was tough.

"In the first half we were under the cosh, in the second half we came out and played a bit and in the end, it was a fair result.

"I came through it okay and thought I did well in the game."
