Short-term loans firm Wonga has reportedly signed a two-year extension to its sponsorship deal with Championship outfit Blackpool, reports SportsPro. Though the financial terms of the new deal were not released, the current sponsorship agreement, which was inked in 2010 when the Seasiders were in the Barclays Premier League, was believed to be worth US$1million per annum.
This extension will see the high-interest online lenders continue as the Seasiders shirt sponsor until the end of the 2014/15 season.
A Wonga spokesperson confirmed the deal to the Blackpool Gazette, saying: "It's true we've extended the deal and will be sponsoring Blackpool for two more seasons."
