Wondolowski: San Jose Earthquakes have turned it around under Watson

San Jose Earthquakes are beginning to settle nicely under interim head coach Mark Watson according to star striker Chris Wondolowski.

The Quakes have won nine and drawn two of 16 MLS fixtures since he took the reins from Frank Yallop in June and are still in the hunt for a Western Conference playoffs spot.

Wondolowski is adamant that Watson has been a key factor in San Jose returning to form and praised the former Canada international for turning things around.

"It's one of those [situations] where I thought that we had a group that definitely could turn it around," Wondolowski told MLSsoccer.com.

"We knew that we weren't playing well enough for results. We knew that we had the skill and the guys in the locker room. We didn't go out and get a whole different team.

"But I think Watty's done a great job since he stepped in. I'm thrilled to see what Watty has done."
