WOMEN'S WORLD CUP: USA cruise past Colombia for quarter final berth

The U.S.A. easily disposed of Colombia 3-0 in their Group C encounter in front of a sell out crowd of almost 25,000 in Sinsheim. The goals came from Heather O'Reilly, Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd, with O'Reill's strike being acclaimed as the goal of the tournament so far.

The scoreline could have been more emphatic as the USA missed a string of chances and hit the woodwork against the hapless Colombian's playing in their first World Cup.

"It still was OK because we were creating chances," U.S. coach Pia Sundhage said of their failure to convert chances.
